PROJECT: Cherished

One of our AFL ladies, was approached by an organization called Cherished in October of 2022. They are an outreach and support group for women working in the sex industry. Their aim is to reach, restore and equip women to live fulfilling lives. Monthly outreaches and support groups, run by certain church groups, visit these woman on a one to one basis, building relationships, uplifting and to see how they can assist.  

On 20 November Cherished hosted a Christmas party for these ladies together with their children, they required certain items for Christmas gift packs. Adventures for Love decided to assist in bags of stationery for the 70 children that would be attending. A call out was made through our social media and Pirates sports club in Greenside. 

Money was raised through the generosity of the local community as well as the Pirates Ladies Bowls day held on the 6th November. We received a donation of 70 school bags from one of our regular donors as well as 70 bottles of soapy bubbles.

We are always in awe of the generosity of folks who assist us in making a difference and in sharing the love.
