FUNDRAISER: Wellness Day – Cradle Health Spa

The Cradle Health Spa, at Hartbeestpoort Dam, was the ideal setting for a day out of the business of the city and into the sanctuary of the beautiful gardens on the foothills of the Magaliesberg mountains. Eighteen ladies entered a sacred space that was created by the facilitators, away from normal day to day life.

The day started with an introduction into the meaning of where and what Chakras are. The objective of healing and balancing these centers through each of the senses was achieved through different modalities. Starting off with Kundalini Yoga facilitated by Leslie, a practising Yoga teacher in the area. From the “Breath of Fire”” to “Rock poses”, to different chants and finally a “Meditation into Being, I Am I Am”, the Centres were opened.

Into the grounding and confirming of personal characteristics with the use of a Crystal chosen by each participants. Elzona is a very gifted lady and through incredible insight was able to “read” each one of us.

A break in the garden was enjoyed by all, with head, neck, shoulders, feet and hand massages available from the Cradle therapists, together with the opportunity to experience Reiki, another form of healing and opening Chakras , through the channeling of energy from our practitioners, Tanja and Adi.

The afternoon brought us into beautiful free sacred movement with Cynthia an ex dancer and current Nursery School teacher from the area, who through dance and music allowed us to let go of any inner anxieties or blocks that may have still been there.

Dr Wilna Dirkse van Schalkwyk from the SA Centre for Sound Therapy, at Hatbeestpoort Dam brought our wonderful day to an end with a meditation using the sacred sounds of Tibetan and crystal singing bowls.

Many of the ladies left us feeling up-lifted, re-juvinated, at peace, relaxed and very much more balanced.
Through this wonderful initiative and with the generosity of the facilitators an amount of R7000 was raised.
